Marketable Courses You Should Pursue
By Kibet Tobias

There are courses in Kenya that will give you easy time when looking for a job while others will leave you tarmacking for so long.

Here is a list of some of the best courses in that will help you land a job fast.

List of Best Courses To Study In 2018

1.Engineering Course
According to the education research firm, engineers are becoming even more marketable as Kenya implements strategies to achieve vision 2030 by developing infrastructure such as road networks, water reservoirs, treatment plants, etc.

Graduates and experienced engineers are more marketable as they have a technical specialty that can help Kenya to achieve these goals.

Engineering candidates are required to have A’s with high cut aggregate points to study the course.
Therefore only a few candidates meet this requirement rendering the job market to be less competitive for them once they graduate.

2. Actuarial science
Many students avoid this course because of a lot of mathematics involved.
Few people therefore graduate into the wider job market that requires actuarial analysts, actuarial associates, actuarial technicians and actuarial specialists.

3. Pharmacy Course
A degree in pharmacy gives you a better chance of landing a job when you finally join the job market.

Diploma courses in the same field have proven to be useful when someone is seeking to start their own pharmacy business as they provide the best hands on experience.
Many job seekers have been known to only work for a given period of time after which they venture into their own private businesses.

4. Medicine
Medicine is a highly marketable course in Kenya when it comes to the job opportunities it presents to job seekers.

Only a few KCSE candidates attain the aggregate points required to pursue the course in university.
According to statistics, there are only 8000 registered doctors in the whole country, translating to the worrying ratio of doctors to patients as 1:5000.
These statistics create a possibility of people in the medical field having more open positions for them now and in the near future.

5. Nursing
The career of nursing is a highly respected field, and there is a great demand for highly skilled nurses around the globe today.

Think about it, there is a big shortage of nurses in majority of hospitals in Kenya. This explains why you will never miss a chance to get an opportunity with a nursing diploma.
These are just but a few courses that will guarantee you an opportunity. However, whether you pick one of the above or not, remember that you have all it takes to get your dream job, sustain it and grow your career.
